Britt DiGiacomo holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Manhattanville College, where she served as production editor at The Manhattanville Review. Her stories tend to depict a bit of tragedy, portraying characters with real life struggles, touching on topics of neglect and loss, revealing the different ways people define themselves through their sorrow.

Britt is currently developing a novel series that charts the life of sixteen-year-old Lilly Difeo, a mixed-up girl who is trying to reclaim herself in a world that’s hell-bent on making that happen.

Britt’s work has been most recently published in GFT Press, Honeysuckle Magazine, Woman Around Town and Breadcrumbs Magazine.

More about Britt:

She graduated from Mercy college in 2012 with a Bachelors in Science in English literature and education research.

In 2012 she received the Joannes Christie award for Outstanding Student in English Literature, along with the Eileen Mc-Mahon award for Excellence in Humanities.

While earning her MFA at Manhattanville, Britt led a three-day poetry workshop, Finding Your Voice Through Writing, at the Hyde School in Woodstock, CT.

What inspires her to write:
“Books, poetry, music, nature, travel and culture—basically anything beautiful that captures my attention. I create because I have things to say and stories to tell. My favorite thing about creating is finding a way to be original and say things differently. I love the control, the power to design a new world based on anything I imagine it to be.”

When Britt is not writing you can find her gallivanting around the tristate area styling bride’s hair for their wedding.
